چکیده

Abstract In recent years, research on Physarum polycephalum has become more popular after Nakagaki (AIR 407: 6803-470, 2000) performed their famous experiment showing that was able to find the shortest route through a maze. Subsequent researches have confirmed ability of Physarum-inspired algorithms solve wide range real-world applications. contrast previous reviews either focus biological aspects or bio-inspired applications, here we present comprehensive review highlights aspects, mathematical models, and The novelty this stems from our exploration intelligent behaviour in competition settings. Further, presented new model simulate competition, where multiple interact with each other environments. proved great potentials for future research.

A bio-inspired algorithm for fuzzy user equilibrium problem by aid of Physarum Polycephalum

The user equilibrium in traffic assignment problem is based on the fact that travelers choose the minimum-cost path between every origin-destination pair and on the assumption that such a behavior will lead to an equilibrium of the traffic network. In this paper, we consider this problem when the traffic network links are fuzzy cost. Therefore, a Physarum-type algorithm is developed to unify th...

On the role of the plasmodial cytoskeleton in facilitating intelligent behaviour in slime mould Physarum polycephalum

The plasmodium of slime mould Physarum polycephalum behaves as an amorphous reaction-diffusion computing substrate and is capable of apparently ‘intelligent’ behaviour. But how does intelligence emerge in an acellular organism? Through a range of laboratory experiments, we visualise the plasmodial cytoskeleton – a ubiquitous cellular protein scaffold whose functions are manifold and essential t...

Physarum Learner: a novel structure learning algorithm for Bayesian Networks inspired by Physarum polycephalum

Two novel algorithms for learning Bayesian network structure from data based on the true slime mold Physarum polycephalum are introduced. The first algorithm called CPhyL calculates pairwise correlation coefficients in the dataset. Within an initially fully connected Physarum-Maze, the length of the connections is given by the inverse correlation coefficient between the connected nodes. Then, t...

Physarum polycephalum Histones

Physarumpolycephalum is an acellular slime mould whose histones are of general interest because they allow comparisons to be made between lower eukaryote and higher eukaryote histones and, perhaps more importantly, they provide a unique opportunity for the study of histone changes in the mitotic cycle, which is naturally synchronous in P. polycephalum plasmodia, and during differentiation. Stud...
